This prayer is called the sinner’s prayer. It is only effective if you are ready to say it, and serious about wanting God to change your life and seek the better things that God has in store for you.
Nothing will happen if you just want to see how it works, or you are not really sure if you want to do it. This prayer is for those who are tired of being tired and looking for change in their life for the better. It is also for those who absolutely know that there is something much better than what they are currently experiencing in life.
So if you are serious and mean business about a life change for the better, this prayer is for you. I have yet to see it fail, as long as you are completely sincere and serious about saying it.
Please say this prayer out loud. It doesn’t have to be so loud that everyone around you can hear, but it should be loud enough for you to hear. It really doesn’t matter where you are, or what you are doing. The only thing that matters is your heart toward God as you say the prayer.
Here it is. It’s short, but extremely powerful!
Dear God in heaven, I know that I am a sinner and I cannot save myself. Therefore I ask you, God, to forgive me of all of the sins that I have ever committed in my life against you, myself and others.
I ask you, Lord Jesus, to come into my heart now and be my Lord and Savior, and I will serve you all the days of my life.
Also, Father, I ask that you fill me this day to overflowing with your Holy Spirit. Fill me also with your wisdom and knowledge of You and your Word. Thank you, Father, for saving me this day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
What to do next
After you have said the prayer, it is important that you find a church in your neighborhood and start attending. Find a church that believes in the whole Bible, healing and prayer.
Start attending Bible study to learn more about God and His Word. Get a Bible, and start praying to God and reading the Bible daily. We suggest you start by reading the Gospel of John. Read it a couple of times, and then go to Matthew, Mark and Luke. Read all of those a couple of times, and then read all the way to the book of Revelation. All of these are found in the New Testament.
It is also important to begin to fellowship with other Christians. Stop associating with those who will only cause you to sin.
All of the above is extremely important to know and do in your new walk with God. There is absolutely nothing in this world that is greater than what you have just done by saying this prayer. You are now considered a “Born Again Christian.” But remember, it is not how you start out that matters, but how you will finish!
